Sue Renkin has been elected to The Leadership Foundation Board of Directors, a global 501c3 nonprofit organisation affiliated with the International Women’s Forum. Congratulations to Sue on being one of 10 new directors selected for this prestigious position in empowering high-potential women leaders through executive training, mentoring and networking opportunities.
Gabrielle Dolan was in New Zealand last week teaching business storytelling to Spark managers. She says, “[Millennials] will not follow anyone based on position or title. They will follow leaders that will engage them, connect them and inspire them.”
Jane Grover, Chief Executive of the not-for-profit Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust network discusses the initiative to host Jazz Sunday Sessions in the Springvale Botanical Cemetery. Ms Grover said she had travelled Australia and the world exploring innovative cemetery practices, she said “the afternoon sessions sought to “demystify” the cemetery and find new ways to reach out into the community.
Kelly O’Dwyer tackles domestic and family violence leave this week, saying it could “disadvantage the very people you are trying to help” by making it more difficult for employers to hire people in potentially difficult situations. Employers such as NAB, Telstra, Virgin Australia, IKEA and Blundstone Boots currently provide domestic and family violence leave for 1.6 million workers.
Linda Dessau tours regionally, raising the awareness and profile of various innovative facilities and institutions. Visiting the Horsham Motorcycle Club last week she commented on the upcoming Motorcross competition, “As the Governor of Victoria, the thought that you’ll be bringing in people from 40 different countries to a regional area is fantastic”.
